Document Compression Tools

A smaller document is useful only if its important content remains readable. Start with the file format: PDF compression and Office image optimization solve different problems and have different output tradeoffs.

The PowerPoint, Word and Excel compressors target supported pictures inside modern Office packages. A mostly text-based file may have little compressible image data. Use the PDF page for its own modes and limitations rather than assuming every compressor preserves the same structure.

Compare the actual reported result, then reopen the download in the application your recipient uses. Keep a high-quality original and avoid repeatedly compressing a reduced copy when fine print or screenshots matter.
