Start with the physical result: a folded booklet, a compact handout and an assembled poster require different page arrangements. Changing page dimensions is different from trimming the visible page or adding outside margins.

Use the booklet maker for folded reading order, N-up for several consecutive pages per sheet, and poster tiling for an enlarged first page. Contents pages and contact sheets provide different kinds of navigation and overview.

Print a short test and check actual size, duplex flipping and printer margins. Crop marks do not create missing bleed artwork, and rendered ink estimates are not press measurements. Ask your printer for requirements when preparing a production job.
